  • Guava (Psidium guajava L.) cv Kristal is a horticultural comodity that is popular in Indonesia due to its good taste and nutrition. Micropropagation is necessary to be carried out to support conventional propagation through for plant improvement and conservation purposes. The objective of this research was to investigate micropropagation of guava cv Kristal on MS medium containing cytokinin. Factorial completely randomized design were used as experimental design with three types of cytokinin i.e., Kinetin, 2-iP, BAP at 0; 0.5; 1.0; 2.0 mg/l respectively. Shoot height, number of leaves, number of nodes, number of shoots and number of roots were observed weekly from 0-8 weeks after planting. Anova analysis showed that type of cytokinin significantly affected numbers of leave, node, shoot and root but not significantly for shoot height. Concentration affected significantly to plant height and numbers of root, numbers of leave, node and shoots. Combination of three type of ctokinins and concentration affected on shootand root numbers, nembers of leave and node, and shoot height. Treatment with 1 mg/l kinetin gave the highest shoot height, and 0.5 – 2 mg/l BAP gave the highest number of leaves and number of nodes but the highest number of shoot were obtain by treatment BAP 1-2 mg/l. Additional of cytokinin had no significant effect on number of roots..
